SCOTTRINCK
Welcome to the iPhone collection of Scott Rinckenberger Photography created with Instagram. To view more of my work visit www.scottrinck.com

I dig life. It's been made very sweet by my wife, nature, outdoor sports, photography, and living creatively.

My photographic method is immersive and minimal. I incorporate photography into adventures. I carry a very small kit and try to cover as much ground as possible on foot, skis and bikes. It is through this kinetic mode that I find my images, or they find me.

The latest news from Alaska is that conditions are beyond excellent in the Chugach. With that in mind, here is a moment from a couple years ago in that fabled range.

Water streaks on the windshield and freeway embankment, a glorious Seattle spring day. (at I-5 Seattle)

To have lived and died in the mountains, reveling in the glory of an alpine sunset or bathing in the white light of a winter’s moon; standing tall in the face of blizzards and avalanches. That is a beautiful life. My thoughts are with the climbers who found their final resting place today on Everest, may their spirits find peace beyond. (at Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho)

A large white pine skeleton casts graphic shadows on the snow as, in the background, hundreds of young trees battle for the privilege to create an equivalent shadow some hundred years hence. (at Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho)

A beautiful rock arch gives @zachcrist and his @k2_skis a window to the pow stashed below. (at Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho)

The sunset gives a goodnight kiss to the high peaks of the Sawtooth range. So precious. (at Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho)

Spent the last three days couloir hunting in the Sawtooth mountains with @andymahre, @zachcrist and @alexobrien for @k2_skis. Blue skies, stable pow and living the high life in a yurt. (at Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho)

Here’s a post of a post from @sunvalley. (at Sun Valley, Id)

Sun Valley is living up to its name. Big fun shooting in the sun with @alexobrien and @andymahre for @k2_skis. Tomorrow we head to the Sawtooth backcountry for some yurt time. (at Sun Valley, Id)

Morning marine fog hides a huge oil refinery in Anacortes, but the camouflage can’t contain the bellowing exhaust from one of the smokestacks. #beautifulpollution

This is one of my favorite rocks. It lives in the tidal zone on the coast of Guemes Island where my friend @kevdarmarchargar has a summer house. If I’m near this rock, odds are I’m very relaxed. #happyplaces

Spring growth is abundant in the northwest forests; it’s a great time to wander.

Inspiration has a way of surrounding those who seek it in nature. Here’s @quasimonastic tapping the source on San Juan Island. (at SaN Juan Island)

On the way home from the San Juans, @haydenteachout and I stopped for a quick bit of climbing on Mt Erie before the rain set in. (at Mount Erie)
